Italian cookbook i'm the chef - Italian Cookbook (I m the Chef): Rosalba Gioffre.

When I went to New York we ate at several Italian restaurants during our travels there. But, one thing we can’t find where we live is amazing cuisine like New York s. It’s just not happening in my small town. I’ve had enough authentic Italian food to know the difference! Especially growing up with Italian grandparents, living near San Francisco and dining in the Italian district often. Today I’m sharing how everyone can have a little bit of Italy in their home cooking with a new cookbook !

Straight from the streets of New York city and Sal Scognamillo who grew up in his father’s restaurant learning how to cook. Then becoming executive chef in 1985. The recipes in this cookbook are the real deal in Patsy’s Italian Family Cookbook!  Patsy’s name has earned national recognition via their line of pasta sauces and gourmet Italian desserts.

I’ve eaten at Patsy’s when I was in New York. The food and service was amazing. They made you feel at home. Nobody is paying me to say this! Seriously, if you visit NYC go eat there. But, if you can’t make it from their recipes from their new cookbook!

I swear, even the highway rest stops in Italy have incredible food. Italy is one of those countries where food is more than fuel or nutrition—it’s about life, togetherness, pleasure. The food reflects that importance—it’s fresh and whole, an opportunity for social interaction, and it’s delightful to eat.

Of course, North American “Italian” food has in many ways been reduced to basic flavor pairings and standard dishes you find everywhere, and in so doing, has lost of some of its magic and regard. It’s worth getting back to the roots of this cuisine, to appreciate it in all its authentic glory.

I love frittata. It’s a great dish that can be used for any meal, it’s easy to experiment and improvise with whatever ingredients you have on hand, and it comes together quickly. I often make a frittata on nights when I haven’t planned a meal and am struggling to come up with a dinner plan.
